Ashton Carter, former protection secretary below Obama, dies at 68

Ashton Carter, who served as President Barack Obama’s final secretary of protection, has died, his household stated. He’s 68 years previous.

Carter, who led the Division of Protection from February 2015 to January 2017, suffered a “sudden cardiac occasion” on Monday evening in Boston, his household stated in a press release.

He’s survived by his spouse, Stephanie, and his kids, Ava and Will.
